UConn opens postseason with dominant defensive performance against St. John's

UConn women’s basketball started from behind in its Big East Quarterfinal matchup with St. John’s on Saturday. The Red Storm scored the first basket of the day 1:31 into the contest and took a 2-0 lead — which proved to be the high point for 8-seed. 

From there, the Huskies held St. John’s without a point for the remainder of the first quarter. In fact, the drought lasted 12:11 — nearly 60 percent of the entire half.
