Following the conclusion of Connecticut’s season, Liam McNeeley spent the week speaking with his family, advisors, and the UConn staff. Liam decided to formally declare for the 2025 NBA draft on April 1st, per ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. A resident of Richardson, Texas, McNeeley averaged 14.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists for the Huskies this season. He won the Big East Freshman of the Week seven times before being named the Big East Freshman of the Year.

According to the March 27th update of NBA big board aggregator site RookieScale.com, McNeeley is ranked as the 13th best prospect in the country. Recent March mock drafts from Sam Vecenie (The Athletic) and Jonathan Givony/Jeremy Woo (ESPN) have him projected as the 11th and 14th pick, respectively.

UConn awaits the status of Alex Karaban, who is also considering declaring for the draft. Alex declared for the draft last summer, returning to school after gathering feedback at the NBA Draft Combine. The Huskies had Stephon Castle (#3), Donovan Clingan (#7), Tristen Newton (#49), and Cam Spencer (#53) drafted last season.
