
Dayton Transfer G Malachi Smith Commits to UConn
UConn has bolstered its backcourt with the addition of Dayton transfer Malachi Smith, a dynamic 6-foot-0, 175-pound guard from the Bronx, New York.
Smith was a 4-year player at Dayton, where he showcased his playmaking abilities, leadership on the court, and resiliency off of it. In the 2024–25 season, he averaged 10.4 points, 5.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 38.3% from three-point range. His performance marked a significant comeback after battling ankle surgeries and a torn meniscus in previous seasons.
