The UConn men’s basketball program has added former Le Moyne standout Dwayne Koroma to its 2025-26 roster as a transfer, continuing the offseason reload. He committed to the coaches on Saturday morning. Koroma, a 6-foot-8 forward, brings experience to a Huskies team looking to buffer its depth in the frontcourt.

Koroma started 30 games this past season as a redshirt junior at Le Moyne, averaging 11.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, finishing 2nd on the team in points per game while leading the Dolphins in steals, rebounds, and shooting percentage. Notably, he shot 71.4% from the floor, featuring the 11th most accurate 2PT% in the country per KenPom. Factoring in a couple made threes, he finished with the second-best eFG% (71.8%) in the country.

In a game against UConn on November 13th, 2024, Koroma had 13 points and 5 rebounds in 29 minutes, shooting 6/9 from the floor including a made three-pointer. He had one of the stronger offensive impacts from a player on either team, as evidenced by his RAPM from the game chart in our Husky ReView following the game. Here are his highlights from the game:

Dwayne moved from Berlin, Germany, to the United States in September 2019 to complete his high school education at Bishop Walsh in Cumberland, Maryland. Prior to his time at Bishop Walsh, Koroma played club basketball in Europe for the Berlin Tigers. In college, he started at Iona, redshirted a year and then played a year of JUCO basketball at Salt Lake Community College, before ending up at UT Arlington in 2023-2024 and finally Le Moyne this past year.

UConn’s General Manager Tom Moore has articulated a strategic shift in the program's recruiting approach towards the team’s remaining scholarships. He noted that they were looking for athleticism, length, and energy—attributes that could help alleviate the wear and tear on the roster and in practice. Koroma fits that mold, having already proven his ability to compete on the boards at the Division I level, particularly on the offensive glass.

Koroma visited UConn on Friday 5/9 alongside fellow transfer recruit Armoni Ziegler of SaintvPeter’s.
