Let’s get it started for the 2025 season. Each week I’ll put in ranking updates, prominent mentions on socials, and anything else that’s noteworthy after a game.
ESPN’s FPI is updated, and UConn is at 79, up a few spots from last week. FPI gives UConn a 33.1% chance of winning Saturday, and a 0.1% chance of winning 12 games.

Bill Connelley’s SP+ also has an improvement, but much larger than FPI. Huskies up to 68th nationally, in fact ahead of Syracuse, who is at 73.

The Athletic is more in line with FPI, with UConn at 79th, up four spots from their preseason ranking.

PFF named Skyler Bell to the national Team of the Week, and Ben Murawski to the G5 Team of the Week. Impressive for Bell, as he played in just one half.
Kelley Ford gives UConn a 22% chance of winning Saturday at Syracuse.

In Ford’s power ratings, UConn is 72nd, and had the 20th largest jump of any team.
If you hadn’t heard, announced crowd of 37K for the opener. Now, some may take issue with that number, but regardless the actual turnstile attendance, the eye test indicated one of the largest crowds I can remember in the past decade.
