The UConn Huskies have secured a key addition to their 2026-2027 backcourt with the commitment of Adolph “Junior” County. Junior is a class of 2026 guard from Utah, who chose UConn out of a final five that included Arizona, Indiana, Maryland, and Purdue. He visited every school on his shortlist, and he conducted his last official visit to UConn this past weekend.
Junior is ranked as high as 29th in the class of 2026 by 247 Sports, as well as #43 by ESPN and #60 in the On3/Rivals rankings. He’s the #40 player and classified as the #3 SG in the 247 composite rankings, though this past season he played more as a lead or combo guard. County attends and plays for Wasatch Academy in the EYBL Scholastic League as well as playing for Utah Prospects on the summer EYBL AAU circuit. He averaged 11.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 37.1% from three on 3.5 attempts per game at Wasatch last season.
County’s size, defensive tenacity, and offensive versatility should make him a seamless fit for Dan Hurley’s system. He has the ability to initiate the offense, play off the ball as a capable shooter, and defend multiple positions. His height and style of play may draw comparisons to previous big distributors of the Hurley era such as Tristen Newton and current Husky Silas Demary Jr. Read and watch more of his game from our in-depth Prospect Profile scouting report.

Junior County is one of my favorite players UConn is recruiting, and he's on campus this weekend. He's not flashy, but he's a winning player and great culture piece. He can pass, shoot, defend, and score. A big connector guard that fits the Hurley blueprint. https://t.co/hWitCgnF1i pic.twitter.com/NZEviA7m8p
