It’s November, and before you know it, December will be here. You know what that means; college football bowl season (or hanging with your family and loved ones, if you’re into that kind of thing). After taking over Fenway Park last year in a 27-14 victory of UNC, the question on fans minds is “where are we taking over this year?” It was a well-attended bowl, with 29,000 fans, far exceeding the Fenway Bowl record, and it was mostly UConn fans.
The thing with UConn, of course, is they are independent. Which means when bowl season comes around, it’s anyone’s guess where they will go. Last year, most of the prognosticators had UConn in one of the “at-large” bowls, like Boca Raton, or Myrtle Beach Bowl. ESPN owns much of the bowl inventory, and they wanted to have a team that would draw a crowd to Fenway. Given that success, does the Worldwide Leader send the Huskies to another locale where the game will be well-attended?
Bowl games will officially be announced during the afternoon of December 7th, after the College Football Playoff Selection Show, but if you’re subscribed to Storrs Central, you just might get the news earlier.
