UConn hires Pat Cashmore as special teams coach

UConn announced that Pat Cashmore has joined Jason Candle’s staff as special teams coordinator. He previously held that role at Washington State (2025), FCS South Dakota State (2023-2024), and Division II Pittsburg State (2020-2022). He was also a quality-control coach at Toledo (2016-2017) when Candle first took over as the Rockets’ head coach.

Cashmore played at FCS Drake, graduating in 2011. He started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Midland University in 2012 and then Iowa Western CC as the special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach from 2014 to 2015. After Toledo, he was an offensive grad assistant at Oklahoma State.
