It’s been one of the most productive recruiting weeks in Husky history, with the Huskies having brought in over 50 prospects, including the HS signees in the class of 2026. With more spots to fill, there will be even more announcements, but for now, take a look at some of the newest Huskies.
*Disclaimer* Eligibility/year is my best educated guess. They may be updated after UConn updates their website with the 2026 roster.
OL Christian Richter (Marshall) R-Jr
- 247Sports Rating: 85
- On3 Rating: 86
- EA Sports CFB26: 75
Richter has made himself part of the Marshall rotation, playing in 8 games last season, and six in 2024. He played 517 snaps this season, and was the highest-rated T on PFF, and second best starting OL. Richter had an above-average 71 pass block grade, while allowing nine hurries and being penalized five times. Richter committed to Lehigh out of HS, choosing them over offers from Charlotte, FIU, Georgetown, New Hampshire, URI, and Towson.
DL Avery Dunn (Toledo) Gr
- 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/10/26)
- On3 Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/10/26)
- EA Sports CFB26: 76
Dunn spent just one year in Toledo after five years at Michigan State. He played in just one game in 2024 due to injuries, providing another year of eligibility. Dunn earned letters in 2022 and 2023, totaling 28 tackles and three sacks in nine games in 2022, followed by 12 tackles in ten games in 2023. For the Rockets, he played in eleven games last year, notching 14 tackles, three for loss, and a sack. In HS, he was the top weakside DE in Ohio per 247Sports, and 27th overall best DE.
WR Ryder Treadway (Toledo) So
- 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
- On3 Rating: 84
- EA Sports CFB26: 73
Another new WR, Treadway follows his HC from Toledo to Storrs. Treadway was a three star recruit coming out of Frisco, TX in the class of 2025. Despite being a true freshman, he played in eleven games for the Rockets, catching 13 passes for 176 yards and three TDs. He had a season-high four catches for 55 yards on the road against Miami (OH). As a prospect, he was lightly recruited, choosing Toledo over offers from the service academies, Tulsa, and a bunch of FCS schools. Getting on the field and contributing as a true freshman speaks volumes, and he should be pushing for time in Storrs as well.
LB Zakaih Saez (Oregon State) Jr
- 247Sports Rating: 84
- On3 Rating: 86
- EA Sports CFB26: 75
The Florida native makes his way back to the east coast after spending three seasons in Corvallis. A three star prospect out of national powerhouse St Thomas Aquinas, Saez held several P4 offers from Florida State, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Louisville, Maryland, Mississippi State, Pitt, Syracuse, Wake Forest, as well as FAU, Charlotte, and Coastal Carolina. At Oregon State, Saez had 37 tackles over two seasons, with 24 tackles in 2024, and a sack in each season. For good measure, he added a pick six in 2024 against Purdue
DB Renick Dorilas (Rutgers) R-Fr
- 247Sports Rating: 85
- On3 Rating: 86
- EA Sports CFB26: N/A (not in this year’s version)
Dorilas, the New Jersey native, was recruited out of HS by the Huskies, but ultimately chose the Scarlet Knights as a three star recruit. The 30th best prospect in the state in the class of 2025 by 247Sports, Dorilas chose Rutgers over offers from BC, Duke, Minnesota, Penn State, Syracuse, Tennessee, and West Virginia, plus several G5 programs. He appeared in just one game, against Norfolk State, mainly on special teams. There will be a lot of depth at the position, but being a redshirt freshman, Dorilas is a tremendous piece for the future
DL Odera Orizu (NC State) R-Jr
- 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
- On3 Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
- EA Sports CFB26: N/A (not in this year’s version)
Orizu comes to Storrs from Raleigh, after spending three seasons with NC State. Orizu had offers from Western Carolina and East Carolina before landing with the Wolfpack, and had offers in the portal from Bowling Green, Sam Houston, and Georgia State in addition to the Huskies. Orizu did not make it onto the field in Raleigh, so perhaps a fresh start will be beneficial.
DL Tahjae Mullix (Oregon State) R-Sr
- 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
- On3 Rating: 85
- EA Sports CFB26: 71
Mullix parlayed his one season in Corvallis to a spot in Storrs. He played in four games, preserving his redshirt, but recorded six tackles, 2.5 for a loss and a sack in those few games. UConn will be his fourth stop, after beginning his career with Western Illinois, where he played in eight games as a true freshman, recording ten tackles, three for a loss and a sack. He then transferred to Western Carolina, where he spent two seasons. In 22 games, he totaled 49 tackles, 2.5 for loss, 1.5 sacks, and a pass breakup. Mullix hails from Covington, GA’s Newton HS, which Husky fans may recognize as the alma mater of Stephon Castle.
DL Emmanuel Olagbaju (North Dakota) Jr
- 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
- On3 Rating: 86
- EA Sports CFB26: N/A (no FCS players in game)
A bit of a surprise commitment, Olagbaju committed to UConn after spending two seasons at St Thomas (MN), followed by a year in Fargo. At St Thomas, he played in four games, totaling eleven tackles. He was poised to enter the rotation as a redshirt freshman, but a season-ending injury would cut his time short after just two games. At North Dakota, he recorded eleven tackles, three for loss, with 2.5 sacks. In addition to UConn, he received offers from Temple, North Texas, Kent State, and UTEP.

DL Jamel Howard (Wisconsin) R-Jr
- 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
- On3 Rating: 85
- EA Sports CFB26: 72
Howard’s former teammate, Skyler Bell, was none too pleased that Howard had not reached out prior to committing, but nonetheless was happy to see another former Badger in Storrs. Howard was a high three-star prospect coming out of HS in Chicago, with 247Sports rating him as the 15th best prospect in Illinois, and the 73rd best DL nationally. Howard chose Wisconsin over Michigan, Illinois, LSU, Miami, Iowa State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, plus several G5 offers. In Madison, Howard made it onto the field in one game, this most recent season against Middle Tennessee State.
TE Matt Ragan (Boston College) R-Jr
- 247Sports Rating: 85
- On3 Rating: 86
- EA Sports CFB26: N/A (not on roster in 2025)
Ragan is an interesting prospect, and not just because he comes from BC, a place where there’s no love lost between the two schools. Ragan played three seasons for the Eagles, but missed significant time due to injuries, including missing all of 2025. He had medically retired from football in April of 2025, but decided to give it another go, entering the portal. As a prospect coming out of Lawrence Academy (MA), where he was teammates with OL Ty Chan, he was rated as a four star recruit by 247Sports, the second best player in Massachusetts, and the 14th best TE in the nation. If he can remain healthy, he’ll look to regain some of that form.
DB Steve Miller (USC) R-Fr
- 247Sports Rating: 85
- On3 Rating: 87
- EA Sports CFB26: 72
UConn typically doesn’t get transfers from some of the sport’s most recognizable names, so excuse fans if they were overly excited about Miller’s commitment. Another Georgia native, he chose USC over offers from Kansas, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Arkansas, Indiana, LSU, Maryland, NC State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, plus several G5 offers, including UConn. He was the 44th rated safety in the country per 247Sports in the class of 2025. As a true freshman, he saw action in one game against Missouri State.

WR Emanuel Ross (Syracuse) R-So
- 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
- On3 Rating: 87
- EA Sports CFB26: 76
It’s always satisfying to get transfers from a rival, but Ross would be a good pickup regardless of what school he hails. The redshirt sophomore from Jackson, NJ played in four games as a true freshman in 2024, catching five passes for 78 yards against Pitt. His role expanded in 2025, playing in six games, catching ten passes for 110 yards, all occurring after QB Steve Angeli went down to injury. Ross was a high three-star recruit coming out of HS, a the 8th best prospect in New Jersey, and the 99th rated WR nationally. He chose the Orange over offers from Stanford, Duke, Florida State, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M, UCF, Vanderbilt, UVA, Wake Forest, West Virginia, plus several G5 offers, including the Huskies.
RB Jaden Hart (Syracuse) R-So
- 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
- On3 Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
- EA Sports CFB26: 74
Another Orange transfer, Hart played in four games this season, rushing for 53 yards on 15 carries. He rushed for a season-high 28 yards on six carries against Colgate, the week after the UConn matchup. As a true freshman in 2024, he appeared in eight games, rushing for 18 yards on three carries, with a long of 11 against Holy Cross. That year, he caught a pass for two of Kyle McCord’s school record in passing yards against UConn. A big back at 6’0” 210, Hart was a high three star recruit out of Michigan City, IN, with offers from BC, Duke, Iowa State, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska, Purdue, plus several G5 schools including, you guessed it, UConn.
