DB Braedyn Moore (Toledo) Jr

  • 247Sports Rating:
  • On3 Rating:
  • EA Sports CFB26:

If you’re a fan who enjoys recruiting rankings, then Moore is your guy. A true four star out of HS who initially committed to Wisconsin before transferring to Toledo. Moore was the 22nd best athlete nationally per 247Sports, and the 13th best overall prospect in Ohio. For the Badgers, he played in seven games in 2024, totaling two tackles and recovering a fumble. He got in four games on special teams as a true freshman in 2023. At Toledo, he played in all 13 games, but recorded just six tackles. He played 90 snaps, mainly at safety, and was thrown at four times, allowing just one catch. With UConn returning zero safeties, Moore along with Jayden Price and Steve Miller look to be in line to occupy the safety spots.

DB Tyler McKinstry (Toledo) Jr

  • 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/10/26)
  • On3 Rating: 82
  • EA Sports CFB26: 67

McKinstry comes to Storrs after spending two years in Toledo. A graduate of Atlanta’s Westlake HS, same HS as former safety Rante Jones, McKinstry was a three star recruit per 247Sports, choosing Toledo over offers from Kent State, Akron, Army, Bowling Green, Miami (OH), MTSU, UAB, Western Kentucky, and a slew of FCS offers. At 5’9” 182, he appears unsuspecting on the surface, but after the success of a similar sized safety, D’Mon Brinson, expectations should be high for McKinstry.

OL Terrence Moore (Toledo) Gr

  • 247Sports Rating: 83
  • On3 Rating: 85
  • EA Sports CFB26: 84

The grad transfer from Toledo was predicted to be a big contributor to the Rockets after transferring in from Pitt, but he did not play in any games for Toledo. At Pitt, he started ten games from 2021 through 2024, including nine as a sophomore. The Rockets ended up with a pretty good C in Anthony Boswell, who broke out as a freshman and transferred to Houston. Moore will look to step back into a starting role at C for the Huskies.

DB Tracy Revels (Michigan State) R-Jr

  • 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
  • On3 Rating: 87
  • EA Sports CFB26: 76

UConn will be the third stop in Revels’ college career, after two seasons at Bowling Green, and one in East Lansing. For the Falcons, Revels played in 12 games as a redshirt freshman, starting the final seven. He had 40 tackles, including a season-high eight against Western Michigan. He did not see any game action for the Spartans, and with an all new secondary taking shape in Storrs, he’ll look to recapture some of that MAC magic.

DL Anas Luqman (Ohio) R-Sr

  • 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
  • On3 Rating: 87
  • EA Sports CFB26: 75

Another MAC transfer, Luqman was productive for the Bobcats, totaling 34 tackles, nine for loss, and four sacks. He had a season-high six tackles against UMass. He recorded 28 QB pressures. Prior to landing with Ohio, Luqman spent time at FCS Arkansas Pine-Bluff, notching 33 tackles in 12 games, including eight TFLs and two sacks in 2024.

DB Jayden Davis (Fresno State) Sr

  • 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
  • On3 Rating: 86
  • EA Sports CFB26: 77

The Fresno native is making a big leap going from the hometown Bulldogs to Storrs. He played in 13 games in 2024 for Fresno, starting ten, with 51 tackles, a TFL, a fumble recovery, and pass breakup. He had his first career INT in their bowl game against NIU (Famous Idaho Bowl). He was primed for a big 2025, and he had 37 tackles, two TFLs, and a sack. He was the seventh best defender on Fresno according to PFF, and had a well above-average grade of 78.9 in pass rush. He was targeted only eight times, allowing five catches for 54 yards, lining up often at a hybrid safety/edge position. He was not penalized one time in 2025.

DL Chamberlain Campbell (Toledo) Jr

  • 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
  • On3 Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
  • EA Sports CFB26: N/A (not in this year’s version)

Campbell was a big get for the Rockets, transferring in from Ole Miss. Campbell played in just two games for the Rebels from 2023-2024 before playing in 12 for the Rockets. He recorded six tackles, and 1.5 sacks. Campbell played in 60 snaps, with four total pressures. He was behind several other edge rushers, including Anthony Dunn and Malachi Davis, two of the highest producing rushers in the MAC. Out of HS, he was a three star recruit, the 90th best edge rusher nationally.

QB Jake Merklinger (Tennessee) R-So

  • 247Sports Rating: 86
  • On3 Rating: 87
  • EA Sports CFB26: 77

A good get for the Huskies, Merklinger was the backup to Joey Aguilar this past season, playing in four games against East Tennessee, UAB, Arkansas, and New Mexico State. He threw for 173 yards on 13-24 passing with two TDs. Out of HS in Savannah, GA, he was a four star prospect, the 13th best QB nationally and 212th best overall prospect. His scouting report on 247Sports tells that Merklinger is accurate on the move, no stranger to RPOs, and has sound decision making as he threw just two INTs as a HS junior.

LB Luke Murphy (Coastal Carolina) Gr

  • 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/15/26)
  • On3 Rating: 86
  • EA Sports CFB26: 78

Murphy is another guy who has traveled quite a bit in his college career, beginning his career at Kent State (2020-2023), then spending a year in Ypsilanti at Eastern Michigan (2024), then spending 2025 in Conway with Coastal Carolina. At Kent, he broke into the rotation in 2022, playing in ten games, totaling 14 tackles. He came into his own with EMU, recording 94 tackles in 2024, with six TFLs, an INT, and a fumble recovery. He had over ten tackles four times for the Eagles. His production dipped in 2025, with 37 tackles in 12 games, including four for loss for CCU.

LS David LaGanga (Kentucky) Sr

  • 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/18/26)
  • On3 Rating: 80
  • EA Sports CFB26: 67

LaGanga will be on his third school when he joins the Huskies. The Staten Island native began his career with Lehigh, playing three seasons, earning 1st Team All-Patriot League by Phil Steele as a redshirt freshman in 2023, and 3rd Team All-Patriot League in 2024. At Kentucky, he played in just one game in 2025, against Auburn. He will be moving closer to home and competing with Zach Christinat for the LS position.

OL Ben Mulholland (Houston Christian) R-So

  • 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/18/26)
  • On3 Rating: 85
  • EA Sports CFB26: N/A (FCS not in the game)

An FCS transfer from a 2-10 team typically wouldn’t garner much attention, but Mulholland is an exception. The best freshman run block OL in the Southland Conference, per PFF, and top 5 freshman G in run block, Mulholland has the requisite size for an FBS OL at 6’4” 325, and started ten games for HCU. According to his X account, he can play any spot on the OL. The competition will take shape this spring for starting OL, but as a sophomore, Mulholland can compete now or be a great piece for the future.

DL Andrew Laurich (Colorado State) R-Jr

  • 247Sports Rating: 83
  • On3 Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/18/26)
  • EA Sports CFB26: 69

UConn has lost plenty of players to CSU, following former HC Jim Mora and the plethora of assistants he brought with him to Fort Collins. The Huskies get one back in Laurich, a redshirt junior from Yorkville, IL. He appeared in all 13 games for CSU as a redshirt freshman in 2024, recording seven tackles and 2.5 TFLs. His role expanded in 2025, where he totaled 30 tackles, one for a loss, and three fumble recoveries. He will look to secure a spot on the interior DL

DB CJ Bell (Iowa) R-Fr

  • 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/18/26)
  • On3 Rating: 86
  • EA Sports CFB26: 68

A product of CT’s St Thomas More, Bell considered the Huskies in his HS recruiting before ultimately landing with the Hawkeyes. Now, a year later, he joins the Huskies, keeping the streak of STM players alive after the Huskies lost Ben Murawski, Thai Chiakhiao-Bowman, Chris Hudson, and Malichi Greaves. Bell was a three star recruit in the class of 2025, and appeared in one game for Iowa, against the eventual national champion Indiana Hoosiers. A Mansfield, MA native, Bell led Mansfield to a state title as a sophomore, playing both sides (RB and DB), before becoming a shutdown corner as a junior.

RB Dashun Reeder (Northwestern) R-So

  • 247Sports Rating: N/A (no transfer rating as of 1/18/26)
  • On3 Rating: 84
  • EA Sports CFB26: 76

Reeder joins the Huskies from Northwestern, where he spent two seasons. He saw no action as a true freshman in 2024, before working into the rotation in 2025, playing in seven games, rushing for 222 yards on 22 carries. He had a 79 yard TD against Oregon, the longest for the Wildcats since a 90 yard TD run in 2001. Against Louisiana-Monroe, he led the team in rushing with 79 carries on 11 carries. He also had 51 yards on five carries against Purdue. The potential was clearly there, and the former three star should figure into the UConn run rotation.
