UConn men’s basketball is the 2-seed in the East Region of the 2026 NCAA Tournament bracket. Dan Hurley’s squad will face Furman on Friday, March 20th before a potential Round of 32 matchup against UCLA or UCF on Sunday, the 22nd

Duke is the top seed in the East, with Michigan State earning the 3-seed and Kansas as the 4-seed, while Big East rival St. John’s is the 5-seed in that region. UConn’s Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games will take place in Washington DC if the Huskies make it.

The other top seeds were Florida, Arizona, and Michigan, with the Wolverines earning the top overall seed.

Furman won the Southern Conference and heads into the NCAA Tournament with a 22-12 record under head coach Bob Richey. Ranked 191st in KenPom, the Paladins are a solid shooting team, but of course will be heavy underdogs in their matchup with the Huskies.

Among the potential second-round opponents, UCLA is ranked 27th (22nd Offense, 53rd Defense) in KenPom while UCF is 54th (40th Offense, 101st Defense).

This is UConn’s sixth NCAA Tournament appearance in a row, setting a new program record. In that time, the Huskies have been seeded 5, 7, 4, 1, 8, and now 2. This is their sixth time as a 2-seed, along with 1995, 1998, 2002, 2004, and 2005.
