UConn’s reserve freshman center Rrezon Elezaj has announced his intention to enter the NCAA transfer portal via his agents, seeking new opportunities. The 7’ 2”, 225-pound center from Kosovo via Turkey saw minimal action during his tenure at UConn.
He appeared in four games this season, non-conference games against UMass Lowell, Bryant, East Texas A&M, and one conference game against DePaul. He played 5 minutes total, but did not score a basket.
Rosters expanded to 15 players and Rrezon’s role was mainly as a practice player, battling Tarris Reed Jr. and Eric Reibe on a daily basis. He also worked to develop his game. He previously played for Beşiktaş Basketbol in Turkey, and will look for a new team this spring.
