The UConn men’s basketball program has received a commitment from Jacksonville State guard Jaye Nash as a transfer addition for the 2026–27 season, bolstering the team’s backcourt depth and ball-handling capabilities.

Nash, a 6-foot-3 195-pound guard originally from Memphis, TN, has two years of eligibility remaining. He started 15 of 32 games for the Gamecocks, encompassing the first 10 games and the last 5 games of the season. However, he played essentially the same amount of minutes as a starter and coming off the bench. In 29 games against D1 competition, he averaged 5.1 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game. In opposition to his assists, he averaged 1.8 turnovers per game, giving him a 2.2 assist to turnover ratio (29.4% assist rate to 24.4% turnover rate). He was 5th in assists per game in Conference USA. He’s a pass first point guard, and he has a penchant for getting to the free throw line. He’s also known by reputation as a solid defensive guard.

Before his college career, Nash was considered a 4* recruit by ESPN and Rivals, though he landed as a 3* in the 247 Sports composite. He moved from Memphis to Georgia to finish his high school career at powerhouse McEachern High School, before enrolling at Tulsa for college. He transferred to Jacksonville State after his freshman year, looking for more playing time, before entering the portal again this summer.
