UConn announced a second exhibition game for this upcoming season: a home date against Purdue on October 27th. The first announced exhibition will be on the road against Michigan State in East Lansing.

These two teams last met in the 2024 national championship game, a 75-60 win for the Huskies’ second consecutive title. The next season, the Boilermakers bowed out of the tourney in the Sweet 16. Last year, Matt Painter’s squad lost to Arizona in the Elite Eight.

UConn is 2-4 all-time against Purdue in a series that goes back to the 1938-1939 season. The two Husky wins have come in the NCAA Tournament, in 2024 and the 2009 Sweet 16.

The Boilermakers won the first matchup and swept a home-and-home in the early Jim Calhoun seasons. Their fourth win in the series came in the 1992-93 season opener at the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic in Springfield, Mass.

The exact location of this exhibition is not confirmed, and the date of the Michigan State game remains to be determined as well.

This game won’t count in the standings, but UConn is clearly testing itself as much as possible. Between preseason games against Purdue and Michigan State, and a loaded non-conference slate featuring Michigan, Duke, Illinois, Arizona, Virginia, and Ohio State, Dan Hurley’s squad is taking on a gauntlet before Big East play begins.
