Two linebackers from Pittsburgh have been visiting Storrs, and for now, one has committed in Lamier Wade. Wade just dropped a top two of UConn and Rutgers, and the former Big East rivals are in for a classic fight over the western PA LB/EDGE who visited Rutgers last weekend. Some recruiting outlets felt pretty confident the Scarlet Knights would land Wade.

Wade received his first offer in late January of this year. He’s earned offers from Eastern Michigan, UMass, Kent State, Coastal Carolina, James Madison, Bowling Green, and Akron, plus many FCS schools. A long athlete at 6’5” 235, Wade has the frame to add more weight and become an end.

Wade told Storrs Central “I chose UConn because I felt welcomed soon as I walked in. I built a relationship with Coach Schaefer (DL Coach), and it just felt like home.”
