It’s about to be summer, although the recent heatwave has made it feel like mid-summer. As such, the Huskies staff hit the beach, landing a commitment from Toms River, NJ native Jason Madden. The 6’4” 235 lb EDGE/OLB attends Donovan Catholic and held offers from numerous FCS programs, including much of the Ivy League, and FBS offers from Buffalo, Temple, Delaware, Army, Old Dominon, and Akron.

Madden was being recruited by Jim Mora’s staff last season, earning a gameday invite to the week 4 Ball State game. After Candle took over, the Huskies were the first to offer Madden, who has earned offers from Buffalo, Temple, Delaware, Army, Old Dominion, Akron, and a cavalcade of FCS programs since.

This past season, Madden recorded 82 tackles, 11 for loss, six sacks, a forced fumble and recovery for his Donovan Catholic squad, helping them to an 8-4 record.
