Stephon Castle

The New York Knicks mounted a comeback for the ages in Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals. After trailing by as many as 29 points, the Knicks stormed back and took the lead for good after an OG Anunoby tip-in with 1.2 seconds remaining, securing a 107–106 victory. Stephon Castle scored 13 points, including a perfect 8-of-8 from the free-throw line, along with five rebounds and five assists, but it wasn’t enough as the Knicks now lead the series 3–1 and are one win away from the franchise’s first NBA championship since 1973.

The 29-point comeback by New York is the largest in the NBA Finals history.

Castle accounted for 11 first quarter points including two assists to a pair of Devin Vassell three-pointers. The 2024 fourth overall pick scored a quick five points in the middle of the period, including this tough jumper.

All eight of Castle’s points in the second half came from the free-throw line. With 30.3 seconds remaining and the Spurs trailing 105–104 Castle drew a foul and made two free throws to give his team a 106–105 lead. After each team traded misses, Jalen Brunson’s three-point attempt was off the mark, but that’s when Anunoby flew in untouched for the game-winning putback.

On the ensuing inbounds play, it appeared the Spurs were setting up a lob for Castle at the rim, however, the pass was deflected by Karl-Anthony Towns, who was guarding the inbounder, and it fell short of Castle, preventing him from getting a shot off before the final horn.

Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday night back in San Antonio where Castle and the Spurs will have to win to keep their season alive. Tip-off is at 8:30pm ET on ABC.

Gabby Williams

Fresh off a career-high 27-point performance against the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces on Saturday, Gabby Williams scored 25 points against the Phoenix Mercury, last season’s other WNBA Finals participant, to lead the Golden State Valkyries to an 87–81 home victory in a Commissioner's Cup matchup. Williams shot 9-of-19 from the field, including 3-of-6 from three and 4-of-6 from the free throw line. It’s the second straight game in which Williams has made three 3-pointers.

“It’s hard to believe that I have only been here (with Golden State) for a month,” Williams said in a post-game on-court interview. I feel right at home, I feel really happy with how we are meshing with each other and it’s been fun.

Williams is averaging career-high’s in points per game (15.4) and three-point field goal percentage (39.4%) for the 7-5 Valkyries.

Tiffany Hayes added seven points off the bench, while Kiah Stokes scored three points with four rebounds, three assists and one block. Kaitlyn Chen was held scoreless in three minutes.

Paige Bueckers/Azzi Fudd

In a battle between the WNBA's two best teams by record, the Minnesota Lynx built a double-digit lead less than seven minutes into the first quarter and never looked back in a 100–76 Commissioner's Cup victory over the Dallas Wings on Tuesday night. Paige Bueckers scored a team-high 23 points as the Wings season-high four-game winning streak came to an end. After tallying 14 assists and just one turnover on Friday, Bueckers finished with more turnovers (five) than assists (two) for the first time this season.

This contest also featured the top two picks in April’s WNBA Draft, number one overall pick Azzi Fudd scored just six points on 2-of-12 shooting, while second overall selection Olivia Miles scored 24 points with seven rebounds and six assists for the Lynx.

Aaliyah Edwards

After scoring a season-high 15 points on Monday against the New York Liberty, Aaliyah Edwards netted a career-high 24 points on Wednesday night in a 106-102 Connecticut Sun overtime loss to the Toronto Tempo.

Edwards, a native of Ontario, Canada, was nearly perfect from the field, shooting 8-of-9 and knocking down the first three-pointer of her career to tie the game at 99 in overtime. The last time Edwards scored at least 20 points in a game was back in the 2024 National Semifinal in the Huskies’ 80–73 win against USC. Edwards also scored 24 points that night.

Edwards’ teammate, Olivia Nelson-Ododa scored nine points and pulled down a season-high 13 rebounds. Kia Nurse did not score in three minutes for the Tempo.
