Stop the presses! UConn got another recruit, this time a big OL in Indianapolis native Krystian Oakley. Oakley is a certainly a big boy, standing at 6’6” 305, with an 81” wingspan. He was a three year starter on varsity for his Brebeuf Jesuit team, and has shed 40 pounds since his season ended.
Oakley holds offers from Kent State, Louisville, Liberty, Akron, Toledo, Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Illinois State, Ball State, Ohio, and Bowling Green. He was scheduled to visit Ohio June 5th, but canceled that visit after his UConn official visit. He did announce a visit to Western Kentucky this weekend, but it’s unclear if that visit will materialize.
Oakley has been high on UConn, posting several times on social media about how it “feels different in Storrs.” Coach Candle was in early on Oakley, offering him in November of last season, and that relationship carried over as Candle took over in Storrs. He visited campus for the spring game, and posted on X stating he had a great time and that there’s “something different about this one.” Oakley is rated an 85 by both 247Sports and On3. his brother, Krystapher, played at NAIA member Marian (IN), and is currently playing for Indoor Football League member Fishers Freight (IN) as a DL.
