With all due respect to our natives to the east, Rhode Island is not known for sending prospects to the FBS level. That’s changed, as Providence native Jalen Moseley committed to UConn football. Attending La Salle Academy, Moseley has received offers from Syracuse, Army, Florida Atlantic, James Madison, plus many FCS offers. He was scheduled to visit Syracuse June 10th, but sources tell me he was actually in Storrs.
Moseley is an athlete, having earned a track scholarship offer from LSU, going so far as to take an official visit. He was on UConn’s radar, though, having sent a spring practice invite in March. He has a stellar record in track, setting the state record in long jump, then casually broke his own record a couple weeks later, breaking a 90 year old record.
He had a big junior season for La Salle. Playing both ways, he had 440 receiving yards with seven TDs, and ten tackles, six breakups, and three INTs at DB.
Moseley told Storrs Central, “This is the place for my best development, great coaching staff,, and I wanna thank God and my family.”
