Stop the presses. UConn Football gained a commitment from yet another defensive back, this time, in Florida native Demond “DJ” Kion Scott Jr. The Melbourne native chose UConn over offers from Marshall, Pitt, Florida State, Miami, West Virginia, Florida International, Delaware, Eastern Michigan, and Coastal Carolina. The G5 offers came most recently, and UConn was his only announced official visit.

Scott Jr is a multi-sport athlete, also participating in track. With good size at 6’2” 185, he ran a 10.95 100-meter dash in May, and has a high jump of seven feet. On the gridiron, he notched 28 tackles, three INTs, had 20 pass breakups, and a blocked punt leading to a TD.

Scott Jr told Storrs Central, “I chose UConn because they welcomed me and my family with open arms. And they see me playing anywhere in the secondary.”
