UConn's First NBA Draft Lottery Pick, Donyell Marshall, Raised the Program's Profile

The Huskies hadn't had a lottery pick since the new draft format began in 1985, or a first-round pick for many years before that.

The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Connecticut forward Donyell Marshall with the fourth pick in the 1994 NBA Draft. Marshall was the first lottery pick in Huskies’ history. Twenty-two years later, the Huskies have had 14 more lottery picks and a host of other draftees.
