Tarris Reed Jr. was selected No. 26 overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 2026 NBA Draft and will land with the Spurs via a trade with San Antonio. Projected to be a late first- or early second-round pick, this is an early landing spot for the St. Louis native, who will now join former Husky Stephon Castle as part of San Antonio's young and talented core.

Though he started college with two underwhelming years at Michigan, Reed Jr. earned a Big East Sixth Man of the Year nod after his first season at UConn and was named first-team all-league this past season. His stock was teetering on and off the radar until he ended his senior campaign with a tremendous bang in the NCAA Tournament.

With the Huskies’ season on the line, Reed Jr. dominated Furman in the opening round and stood up to some of the most talented frontcourts in the country, including those of Michigan State, Duke, and Illinois, as they advanced to the championship game.

In the NBA Combine, the senior earned praise for his performance in the 5-on-5 scrimmage and revealed some of the teams interested and comparisons he believes he fits, including Isaiah Hartenstein.
