38-38-2. That’s where the UConn-UMass football rivalry stands entering the 2026 season. The schools have been playing since 1897 with intermittent pauses in the series. After a pause for unclear reasons between 1900 and 1916, they played every year between the end of World War I and the start of U.S. involvement in World War II.
After a pause in the 1940s and early 1950s, the football programs reacquainted as members of the new Yankee Conference.
