On Friday night, news broke that junior Kalieb Osborne would be UConn’s starting QB for the season opener. The summer competition that included senior Tucker McDonald and Tennessee transfer Jake Merklinger ended with the Toledo transfer earning the nod before making an explosive debut on Saturday.

In Saturday’s romp over Lafayette, the Huskies needed just six plays on their opening drive to reach the end zone.
