UConn adds a "Tank" to its OL
UConn added a big piece to its offensive line in Charlotte transfer Ja’khi “Tank” Green. Green, a 6’6” 320 lb OL, committed to Maryland out of HS, and played 3 seasons for the Terrapins from 2020-2022. He joined the 49ers for the 2023 season. Green played in two games in each season from 2020-2022, He started 8 games for Charlotte, playing in ten, and missing two games due to injury.
Green attended national powerhouse St Frances Academy (MD) for HS, and was rated a three star recruit by 247Sports and Rivals. He chose Maryland over offers from Arizona State, Kent State, Kansas, and West Virginia. St Frances had a 44-3 record while Green was there.
UConn lost guards Christian Haynes and Noel Ofori-Nyadu to the NFL this offseason, and lost prospective start Jack Stewart to injury this spring, and will miss the entire season. Green adds offensive line depth, experience, and competition this summer. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
