Huskies Add Another WR

UConn added yet another WR through the transfer portal in former Campbell and Iowa State WR Ezeriah Anderson. At 6’5” 220, he helps replace the big target lost this past year in Justin Joly (6’3” 232). He was a part of a recruiting class at Iowa State that had four WRs.

Anderson was a three star recruit coming out of Seffner, FL, and had a top 6 of Missouri, South Florida, Oregon, Syracuse, BC, and Rutgers, before Iowa State offered. 247Sports had him rated as the 119th best WR in the nation in the Class of 2019. He played mainly on special teams with the Cyclones in 2020 and 2021 before transferring to FCS Campbell. There, he caught 28 passes for 387 yards and 3 TDs in 2022, and caught 35 passes for 489 yards and 4 TDs in 2023, including a season high 9 catches for 102 yards against North Carolina. His career high came in 2022 against Bryant, where he caught 8 passes for 115 yards and a TD.

Watching some highlights, he’s obviously a big WR that can go over the top to make the catch. I saw several slants where he was able to break free, very reminicscent of Joly against Rice this past season.
