Offseason Arrivals and Departures: Defense

UConn’s defense was a far cry from some defenses of past seasons, such as the 2018 Huskies, who allowed a then NCAA record 50.4 points per game, but it was clear changes needed to be made. For starters, HC Jim Mora has been the defensive coordinator for every game he has coached at UConn thus far, and while that seemed to work in 2022, it didn’t work in 2023. Points per game increased from 26.2 to 29.8. Passing yards jumped from 210.8 yards per game to 258.
