Highly touted DB out of MD commits to UConn
Father’s Day weekend has historically been a big recruiting weekend for UConn football, and this year is no different, as the Huskies landed highly touted DB Axavier Bridges-Brooks following his official visit.
Bridges-Brooks, from Keyser, West Virginia, but attends school in Upper Marlboro, MD, has a slew of P4 offers, including BC, Cincinnati, Duke, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, UNC, Oregon, Penn State, Syracuse, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. UConn offered back in February, and based on his Twitter, does not have any other OVs set up. He is a solid 3 star recruit according to both 247Sports and Rivals, and is the 22nd best prospect in Maryland according to Rivals, and 28th by 247Sports.
He had good showings at several events this past spring, including the US Army All-American Game combine, where he went 6-0 in 1 v 1, Under Armour Next Camp in Baltimore, where he went 8-1 in 1 v 1, and Penn State camp where he went 5-0 in 1 v 1. He can play anywhere in the secondary, but it’s unclear if he will be a corner or safety at the next level. According to 247Sports, he is the 70th rated safety in the nation, and at a rating of 87, is the 10th best prospect to commit to UConn in history. Check out some highlights below:
