How a year away from home prepared Ashlynn Shade for UConn

Ashlynn Shade’s senior year of high school was shaping up to be legendary.

Not only did she have an opportunity to take home her second-straight Gatorade Player of the Year and win back-to-back state titles with Noblesville High School, but she also had a chance to go for the coveted Miss Indiana Basketball award.
