UConn Adds Second New Jersey O-Lineman
The Hun School in Princeton, NJ has been one of the best prep programs in the northeast in recent years. Just last year, they went 8-1, the one loss being their only close game, a 17-7 loss to Malvern Prep, another prep power. They beat some of CT’s best, Avon Old Farms, and St Thomas More, by scores of 28-7 and 52-6, respectively. That’s all to say, it would be a great program to get some players from. UConn received their second commitment from the Hun School in OL Joe McGann.
On the heels of his teammate Hill Greenlee committing, McGann gave his commitment to the Huskies over offers from Akron and Buffalo, plus several Ivies and other northeast FCS offers. He transferred to the Hun School this spring after playing for Arlington HS (NY), where he played TE and DL. His Arlington squad was undefeated before being upset in the NY Section 1 Class AA title game. He caught 5 passes for 118 yards, as presumably he was used in a primarily blocking role, and 47 tackles, including 9 for loss as DL, including a season high 9 tackles in the title game loss.
