As the temperature remains hot in July, so do the UConn football Huskies on the recruiting trail. The Huskies added their second WR in the class of 2025 in FL WR Makih Johnson.

Johsnon attended Clearwater Academy International (FL) but will be transferring to Tarpon Springs HS (FL) this fall because the football program at CAI is shutting down. He held offers from FAU, Indiana, Iowa State, Kent State, UMass, UCF, USF, Toledo, UTSA, Western Kentucky, and several FCS offers. UConn was his only known official visit.

Johnson is a speedster. He ran 11.56 100 meter dash, and 23.20 in the 200 meter dash in HS, while catching 18 passes for 239 yards last season for the football program. He caught a walk-off 34 yard Hail Mary pass over multiple defenders to defeat Riverview HS back in October, showing his clutch playmaking skill. The Huskies added several receivers to revamp the room this offseason through the transfer portal, but Johnson will be joining a WR room with current freshmen Brock Montgomery, Terrence Smith Jr, Zack Drawdy, Jackson Harper, Jarvis Jones, Shamar Porter, and fellow incoming freshman Xavier Watson.
