Kimani Young on his journey to UConn and lessons from the climb

Kimani Young’s interest in coaching started with a desire to give back.

“I had an unbelievable youth basketball experience,” he told Storrs Central. “So many people dedicated so much time and effort into developing me as a player…I owed all those people who helped me. That was truly my goal.”

After his playing days were over, Young didn’t go directly into college basketball.
