The transfer portal may be closed, and classes have started, but that didn't stop the football Huskies from adding an important piece in former Notre Dame OL Ty Chan.

Chan, a former four star recruit coming out of HS in Lowell, MA, heads to Storrs after playing mainly on special teams for the Irish. Chan played 83 snaps on special teams to go along with eight snaps on offense. He, along with other prominent members of the Irish offensive line, entered the portal after reaching the national championship game, ending the season with a loss to Ohio State.
Chan chose Notre Dame over offers from BC, Duke, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, Syracuse, Virginia, and William & Mary. The 175th overall prospect, and 17th rated OL per 247Sports, Chan also played basketball at Lawrence Academy. He earned a 4-7th round NFL Draft grade as a projection in HS from 247Sports. He should be one that will slide in to replace either Chase Lundt and Valentin Senn at tackle.
