UConn jumped out to a 26-12 lead over the Red Storm 8:24 into the game. They were on pace for 124 points. And then it all stopped. St. John’s clamped down with their defense and UConn went cold from three. UConn finished the game scoring 36 points in the following 31+ minutes.

St. John’s obviously has defensively-gifted personnel. Strong, quick, and long athletes. Rick Pitino has the team totally bought in on the defensive end of the court.
