Cam Spencer
Memphis entered Monday on a six-game losing streak, but Spencer delivered back-to-back double-digit performances to help the Grizzlies get back on track. In that first outing, Spencer recorded 16 points on 4-of-9 shooting including 3-of-5 from three and 5-of-5 from the free throw line in the Grizzlies 137-128 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Then on Wednesday, Spencer scored 10 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, including the five game-sealing Grizzlies points in the last 44 seconds to close out the Sacremento Kings, 129-125 on the road.
Stephon Castle
It was good to see Castle back on the floor on Wednesday night after he missed the San Antonio Spurs 112-103 win against the Orlando Magic this past Sunday due to an adductor injury. The 2024 Big East Freshman of the Year scored 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting and 2-of-2 from the free throw line along with three rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks in the Spurs 116-106 win against the injury-depleted Oklahoma City Thunder. San Antonio (34–16), the current No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, has trimmed the gap to five games behind the West-leading Thunder.
Donovan Clingan
Clingan wasted no time on Tuesday night against the Phoenix Suns, knocking down three consecutive top of the key three-pointers in the opening 2:06 of the ball game. He finished with 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting, going 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and 3-of-4 at the free-throw line, while pulling down 15 rebounds to earn his 18th double-double of the season. Clingan is shooting 31.2% from three on the season. Portland fell to the Suns 130-125 as the Blazers have lost six straight games.
Andre Drummond
Despite playing in just eight of the last 19 games, Drummond posted his ninth double-double of the season on Tuesday night in a Philadelphia 76ers 113-94 victory at the Golden State Warriors. The former UConn walk-on finished with 12 points, highlighted by his 18th triple of the season, to go along with 12 rebounds and a block in 28 minutes, his most action on the floor since December 19th at the New York Knicks.
Jordan Hawkins
Hawkins has now sat out eight straight games via a “Coach's Decision” after the New Orleans Pelicans 141-137 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night. Hawk last played on Sunday January 18th. In the prior seven games, Hawkins played in all seven Pelicans contests, logging double-digit minutes in each game. He averaged 3.2 points per game on 8-of-27 (29.6%) from the field and 3-of-14 (21.4%) from three in 15.3 minutes per game.
James Bouknight (G-League)
Bouknight had another solid offensive performance against his former team/organization, the Rip City Remix (Portland Trail Blazers G-League affiliate) on Tuesday night. The former UConn star scored 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting, 1-of-5 from three and 3-of-3 from the free throw line in the Mexico City Capitanes (No NBA affiliate) 130-119 loss to Rip City.
Bouknight accepted an invitation to participate in the NBA G-League 3-point contest on Saturday February 14th during the NBA All-Star weekend. Bouk has connected on 37.1% of his three-pointers this season.
Tristen Newton (G-League)
After scoring just 10 points on Sunday, Newton responded on Wednesday afternoon with a 23-point performance in the Rio Grande Valley's (Houston Rockets G-League affiliate) 130-116 win over the Valley Suns (Phoenix Suns G-League affiliate). Newton shot 8-of-15 from the field, 1-of-7 from three and 3-of-3 from the line. He also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out three assists in 32 minutes of action.
Tyler Polley (G-League)
On Wednesday, Polley scored 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting and a perfect 2-of-2 from three in the College Park Skyhawks’ (Atlanta Hawks G-League affiliate) 156-126 loss to the Cleveland Charge (Cleveland Cavaliers G-League affiliate). Polley has scored in double-digits in two of his last three games.
Andre Jackson Jr.
Jackson Jr. scored two points, grabbed two rebounds, handed out three assists and picked up one steal on Tuesday night in the Milwaukee Bucks 131-115 win over the Chicago Bulls. The 2023 National Champion played 12 minutes, six of them came in the first half.
The very next night, Jackson Jr. played just five minutes in the Bucks 141-137 victory over the Pelicans, recording one rebound and one assist. Those appearances represented just the sixth and seventh times Andre has played in the first half this season.
Samson Johnson (G-League)
Samson scored just two points and recorded one block in the Noblesville Boom (Indiana Pacers G-League affiliate) 127-117 win over the Osceola Magic (Orlando Magic G-League affiliate). Johnson is ranked second in all of the G-League with a 68.7 field goal percentage.
Liam McNeeley (G-League)
McNeeley did not suit up for the Greensboro Swarm's (Charlotte Hornets G-League affiliate) 126-103 win over the Windy City Bulls (Chicago Bulls G-League affiliate) this past Monday due to a back injury.
The Swarm's next game will be on Friday night against the Cleveland Charge (Cleveland Cavaliers G-League affiliate).
Tyrese Martin
Martin did not play in the Brooklyn Nets 125-109 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night. Martin is shooting just 4-of-20 (20.0%) from the field and 2-of-13 (15.3%) from three over his last four games played.
Tage Thompson
On Monday night, Thompson scored his 29th goal of the season in the Buffalo Sabres 5-3 win at the Florida Panthers. The Sabres will host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday and then the NHL will take a break due to the Winter Olympics, but not Thompson, as he will be on Team USA's roster for the upcoming Milano Cortina games.
