PHILADELPHIA – It was not the UConn Huskies’ best performance, but it was enough to advance to the Round of 32 as they took down 15-seeded Furman, 82-71, on Friday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Tarris Reed Jr.’s 31 points and 27 rebounds made all kinds of history while also giving UConn the boost it needed to keep a pesky Paladin side at bay throughout the night, while Alex Karaban dropped 22 in the victory effort.
