Donovan Clingan

Clingan continues to dominate regardless of the opponent, as the seventh pick of the 2024 NBA Draft recorded his sixth and seventh straight double-doubles over the weekend. It began Friday, when he scored 21 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, blocked three shots, and added four assists in the Blazers’ 108–104 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Then on Sunday, it took Clingan only one quarter to set a new career-high with four three-pointers, as the big man finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds in 25 minutes during the Blazers’ 126–112 win over the Denver Nuggets

Clingan is averaging 17.7 points and 12.9 rebounds per game during the seven game stretch.

Tristen Newton (G League)

Newton posted his 15th 30-plus point game of the season on Thursday in the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (Houston Rockets G League affiliate 108-99 win at the Santa Cruz Warriors (Golden State Warriors’ G League affiliate). Newton shot 10-of-22 from the field, 5-of-12 from behind the arc and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. His five three-pointers were his most since he knocked down seven on February 25th. The former Husky also finished with nine rebounds, six assists with one turnover and four steals in 39 minutes of action.

As for an encore on Saturday night, Newton scored 28 points on 8-of-18 shooting including 3-of-5 from three and 6-of-8 from the free throw line. He is now averaging 24.9 points per game, fourth-best in the G League

James Bouknight (G League)

On Friday, Bouknight scored 16 points in a 131-89 Mexico City Capitanes (No NBA G League affiliate) loss to the Sioux Falls Skyforce (Miami Heat’s G League affiliate). Perhaps that 42-point defeat did not sit well with the former Husky because on the very next night, Bouknight erupted for a season-high 38 points and lead the Capitanes to a 116-105 victory over the Skyforce. Bouk made 13 field goals, tying a career high, and sank a season-high eight three-pointers, finishing just six points shy of his career-best 44 points, which he set on March 18th, 2023, with the Greensboro Swarm (Charlotte Hornets’ G League).

Liam McNeeley (G League)

McNeeley put together the best game of his young professional career on Sunday afternoon by scoring a career-high 33 points in the Greensboro Swarm 141-131 loss to the Westechester Knicks (New York Knicks’ G League affiliate). The former Husky shot 12-of-20 from the field including 2-of-5 from three and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. McNeeley also pulled down five rebounds and had two assists in 38 minutes.  After scoring 19 points this past Wednesday, McNeeley is averaging 26 points per game in two games since returning from a sprained left ankle.

Cam Spencer

Spencer scored 11 points off the bench Friday in the Memphis Grizzlies’ 117–112 loss to the Boston Celtics. The 2024 second-round pick knocked down three three-pointers and added five assists without a turnover in 23 minutes.

On Saturday, Spencer scored zero points for the second time this season, although he still was able to hand out four assists in the Grizzlies 124-101 loss to the Charlotte Hornets.

Andre Drummond/Tyrese Martin

Drummond recorded his 499th career double-double Thursday in the Philadelphia 76ers’ 139–118 win at the Sacramento Kings. He finished with 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. The three made threes tied a career high, and his 499 career double-doubles rank 18th most in NBA history.

On Saturday, Drummond did not pick up double-double number 500 but he did swat away four Utah Jazz shots in the 76ers 139-118 victory. The four rejections are his most since February 6th, 2024 when Drummond blocked four shots with the Chicago Bulls.

As for Martin, he remained inactive in those two 76er games as he has just four games of eligibility remaining on his two-way contract before Philadelphia has a choice to sign Martin to a full-time NBA contract or not. His two-way contract teammates, MarJon Beauchamp (10 points In 29 minutes) and Dalen Terry (0 points in 12 minutes) both played in the last two games.

Samson Johnson (G League)

The back-to-back NCAA Champion scored a combined 22 points for the Noblesville Boom (Indiana Pacers’ G League affiliate) over their last two games. Johnson scored 14 points and finished with four rebounds, three assists and one block in the Boom’s 121-107 victory over the Austin Spurs (San Antonio Spurs G League affiliate). On Sunday, Johnson came off the bench for just the third time in 32 games this season and scored eight points while blocking another shot in 19 minutes of action, just over three minutes below his season average (21.9 minutes per game).

Stephon Castle

Castle did not play in either of the San Antonio Spurs’ wins on Thursday or Saturday due to a hip injury. The 2024 national champion has missed a few games here and there this season due to the hip injury. His next opportunity to return comes Monday night against the Miami Heat.

Tage Thompson

The 2026 Olympic Gold Medalist scored his 36th goal of the season in the Buffalo Sabres 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday. Thompson is now tied for ninth in the NHL in goals as the Sabres (44-20-7) sit second in the Eastern Conference, one point back of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Matthew Wood

Wood was held without a point in the Nashville Predators’ wins on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday but the team has now won four straight and sits a season-high five games above .500 (33-28-9). The Predators are currently in eight place in the Western Conference with 75 points.

Andre Jackson Jr.

Jackson Jr. enter the game for the final nine minutes of Thursday’s 128–96 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, finishing with two points and one rebound. However, the third-year forward did not appear in Saturday’s 108–105 win over the Phoenix Suns due to a coach’s decision.

Jordan Hawkins

After scoring five points in just two minutes this past Monday, Hawkins did not check in for either of the Pelicans games on Thursday or Saturday due to a coach’s decision. The third-year guard is averaging just 3.8 points per game and shooting 30.1 percent from three in 43 games this season.

Tyler Polley (G League)

On Saturday, Polley broke a four-game scoreless streak by knocking in a three-pointer in the College Park Skyhawks (Atlanta Hawks’ G League affiliate) 129-98 victory over the Westchester Knicks (New York Knicks’ G League affiliate). The 2021 Big East Sixth Man of the Year is averaging 6.6 points per game so far this season.
