UConn men’s basketball entered the NCAA Tournament facing questions about its true ceiling. Despite a strong record, excellent non-conference run, and finishing second in the Big East regular-season standings by one game, the Huskies earned a 2-seed in the NCAA Tournament and were viewed as a flawed, beatable squad.
They were a popular upset pick across the first two rounds, especially as they dealt with injuries. Even their fans had lost some confidence.
