Newton, Spencer drafted in 2nd round

Tristen Newton and Cam Spencer both overcame long odds to hear their names called on the second day of the NBA Draft. Both started their collegiate careers at low-major D1 schools and both proved a lot of doubters wrong with successful tenures at UConn. Newton and Spencer were the starting guards for a championship team and Newton won two on his way to earning All-American honors, Final Four MOP, and the Bob Cousy Award.
