At the early stages of the day, 4:30 in the morning to be exact, small forward Blanca Quiñonez let the world know where she’d play college basketball: at the University of Connecticut.

She’s currently playing in Italy’s Serie A1, where she was recently spotted with head coach Geno Auriemma and assistant Morgan Valley.

With Campobaso at just 17 years old last season, Quiñonez averaged 10.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 29 games. She also notably participated in the Basketball Without Borders event at the WNBA All-Star game, which was attended by both Aaliyah Edwards and Nika Muhl in previous years.

The talented wing caught the eyes of many on the international circuit with her impressive court vision, scoring talent, and growth with her jump shot. With the experience she’s accumulated against advanced international competition, UConn will look for her to take her game to the next level in Storrs.

For the third commit of the 2025 recruiting cycle for coach Auriemma and the Huskies, Quiñonez joins a talented group with 5-star guard Kelis Fisher and 4-star Gandy Malou-Mamel.
