UConn explodes for historic shooting performance that Geno never saw coming

Entering Tuesday’s contest with Iowa State, Geno Auriemma was worried about his team’s shooting. Coming off a miserable 3-16 performance from three at Notre Dame followed by inconsistent 8-22 day from deep against Georgetown and some rough practices in between, UConn had been in a slump. To make matters worse, they were going up against a Cyclones squad that knocked in nearly nine 3-pointers per game. 

Auriemma didn’t feel good about the matchup.
